100 Abdominal Exercises

100 Abdominal Exercises will not leave you suddenly with ripped abs. Okay you see the pictures and dream of everybody watching you on the beach or by the pool with a 6-pack (nope not the beer!). When you look in the mirror, however, you realize that this is not a present reality. Before you can realize that dream you need to know a few things.

Body Fat

Your body does not lose fat if you do exercise in that specific area. Our bodies loves fat proportionately, and all of us do this differently. If you have ever lost a lot of fat before you know that you notice the differences in certain parts of your body first. For example, you might realize that before you see a loss in the gut area, you see fat loss in the face, neck, legs and arms. In fact, for many of us the last place to lose fat is in the gut area. This is sad, but true. Therefore, while doing a 100 abdominal exercises may build stomach muscles it may not give you ripped abs. First, you must lose the fat! This leads to the next topic.

How to Lose the Fat

Hold on, it is not as bad as you think. You were probably thinking of long hours at the gym and eating like a bird. In fact, most of what you learned concerned fat loss is wrong! You heard that right. In the battle against fat loss (note I did not say "weight loss" - there is a difference!). The 3areas of focus for losing fat are as follows:
  • Muscle Building. Don't worry ladies, contrary to what you think, muscles take up less room than fat and will not leave you looking bulky. In fact, you will look more "toned." Muscles burn more calories. In order to maintain muscle mass the body must burn calories. There are ways to turn on your calorie-burning capacity with strength training. There is no way around it, you must build and maintain muscle.
  • Cardiovascular Training. No, I'm not talking about running miles or going on the treadmill for a long time. The best type of training that burns fat is interval training, which consists of short bursts of high intensity. You only need to go for 10-20 minutes, with 2 minutes rests between burst of 30-60 seconds. High intensity means high intensity - you give it all you got. Afterward the body burns fat like never before.
  • Food. I did not say diet because that conveys the idea that you will eat very little. On the contrary you should eat nutritious foods, but in the right quantity and combination. This is the key to flipping on your body's metabolism, which will melt fat away like never before. Starving yourself is not the answer. Sadly, too many young people are deceived by what is portrayed in fashion and end up doing hard to their bodies.
So if you want to have ripped abs, you need to follow the above points. Sure go ahead and do those 100 abdominal exercises, but not at the expense of proper weight training, cardio and the right combination of food.
